As usual, great pleasant experience. Very well organized student move in process.By Lena Chka (4 months ago)The university stands on hills. The view is nice, but there are not many public parking slots.By ZY L (2 months ago)The administration does not care about students. The campus is too spread out and parking is expensive. I’ve had several good professors but they deserve to be better paid at some other university that will treat them well.By Brad W (4 months ago)Nothing better than WVU football in the fall!By Sally & Keith Prather (a month ago)It is nice to study in this beautiful universe, but no, not me, because I am in a country that does not care about the psychology of its citizens. Located in the heart of West Virginia’s Appalachian area, Marshall University shines bright as an academic lighthouse for the entire region. Aside from operating a medical school, the university maintains large number of majors and awards Numerous degrees. Anyone associated with Marshall knows that the university six to integrate students faculty and staff into the fabric of the community. Alumni remain faithful after graduation.By David Wiser (2 years ago)I’ve seen the movie. I had no idea this beautiful University was in this little town. We marvelled at its size and beauty. I’m quite sure it has everything a high school senior would need to further ones education.

SO MUCH TO DO !!By Tommy Hughes (6 months ago)I had very high hopes going to marshall, but this ended up being an awful school and I cannot wait to transfer. The professors are horrible and they will not give me instate even though I’ve lived here for over a year. I definitely would recommend looking for other schools.By Star Dostall (a year ago)Great time ,Great atmosphere.By Mery Marrero (8 months ago)

I am doing my MS over here. Small school with great faculty. Everyone here are friendly and helpful. But need to improve a lot especially in managing international students. No dorm for grad.students, that sucks. No proper playgrounds too. But the school is at quiet place with beautiful scenario. Overall, I like this school.By Dinesh Ghimire (a year ago)Amazing Campus enhancementsBy Gheymarne (a month ago)Such a lovely campus having graduated from this University twice I’m really impressed with the growth that has taken place. As one who knows this institution well, I strongly urge students to look ELSEWHERE. It’s not recommended.
As an afterthought, and after visiting West Virginia University recently a few times (I am a retired professor), I would guide students and parents to a DIFFERENT state. Choose an “ivy league” school, one with good graduation rates and reputation. West Virginia is not a good venue for education at this time.
By Thomas McClure (4 months ago)If you need a small college that focuses on your individual needs, Fairmont State would be a wonderful fit for you. If you need smaller class sizes and professors who know you by name, Fairmont State would be a wonderful fit for you. Reach out to us today if you are interested in attending Fairmont State.By Angela McKeen (a year ago)As a Theatre alumni who can recommend the fine arts professors and education during my time at the university, I can no longer endorse this institution. I can unfortunately no longer refer prospective students to this institution because of their lack of transparency in the sudden cutting of the music and theatre degree programs. The discontinuation of social media input (tagging, check ins, etc) to air my grievances is also a red flag that they are currently not interested in engaging with the community on this matter. While the training I received at Fairmont State has proven invaluable, their priorities have changed for the worse. Please consider universities interested in the breadth and depth of a liberal ARTS education.By Lakyn Arrick (2 years ago)The campus is probably the best place in Fairmont.By Oleksandr T (3 years ago)I would not recommend Fairmont State to any upcoming student due to the fact that the Music and Theatre Programs have been recently cut. These programs have immense historical value and community outreach, that produce alumni who go on to do great and amazing things. Off the top of my head, these students have become teachers, directors, professional actors, professional musicians, managers, opera workers, camp counselors, graduate candidates, etc. and yet FSU has stated these are not employable degrees. This is appalling and I am ashamed to be an alumni from such an establishment.By Morgan Carder (2 years ago)

Having attended as a non-traditional student having already earned a B.A., my time at Shepherd centered solely on taking classes outside of the my degree’s focus. Throughout the three years taking part-time classes, I had an enjoyable experience. Not having to focus on general studies but instead core courses, I was able to gather the skills I was wanting to learn without any other educational interruptions.
As my time at Shepherd was spent in only one building and largely in one room even across six semesters, I cannot provide any substantial opinion regarding the university at large. However, I was glad to study under my department’s instructors that left a positive impression and lasting skills.
By A L (5 months ago)Absolutely terrible university to attend. Only went there due to cheap tuition and scholarships but spent the whole time teaching myself my courses and figuring all the logistics out because the faculty is of the worst I’ve ever dealt with. I’ve heard multiple cases similar to mine. Don’t waste your money here.By garrett donham (a year ago)If you are pursuing a career in Computer Science, then do not go to this school. I have spent the last 4 years pretty much teaching myself the course, thnn the professors have. If you run into problems do expect much help. Also communication in email with them is horrible. Its like they dont read your email and see what the issue is. The read like the first 2 words and give a quick one liner back that doesnt even begin to answer your problem. It has been pure frustration at this university.By Damon (a year ago)This is my daughters first semester in college and we chose Shepherd mostly because of Covid and wanting her to be close enough that if things got too bad we could get to her quickly. We couldn’t be happier with our decision. We were completely overlooking a wonderful school just because it was local. The campus is beautiful and well kept. We were told that she would be living in the oldest dorms so we were completely blown away by how nice her room is. The security is always present on campus. I literally see them every single time I am there. As a Mom, this is BIG for me.By Ashley Rankin (2 years ago)A great school with a faculty that cares.By SVG Commercial Cleaning LLC (a year ago)
