Honestly I passed on this place several times because the menu didn’t look all that interesting. I am really glad I finally tried it. I had the catfish and shrimp. Being from Mississippi, the catfish capital of the world, I have had the best catfish you could ever taste so I am pretty picky. If it’s not good I won’t even eat it. Soul Fish did not disappoint. The catfish and the shrimp were excellent. I don’t typically like sweet hush puppies but they were pretty good also. The baked sweet potato was I great paring I had never tried. I really hate I am just now giving this place a try. Definitely stop by. Not many places left that use top quality ingredients, cook the food themselves, have great service and still have affordable prices but Soul Fish does. I will definitely be back.

We really enjoyed this place. We were passing through Memphis and google suggested this place. Down to earth spot. Catfish breading was excellent. Food came quickly. Waitress was very sweet and kind even though she was super busy. Corn had peppers and onions in it. Unusual taste but I liked it. They have collard greens as well. Didn’t care for the hush puppies but everyone makes them differently. They have an outside dining area. Decor was nice. Good experience overall. Highly recommend.

The cafe looks so cool. I ordered a southwest chipotle salad with blackened salmon. My partner ordered a catfish platter. Two catfish fillets fried with a couple of sides. He took sweet potato fries and Mac and cheese. The platter comes with hush puppies. The fish was absolutely yum. Both the salmon and the catfish, the quality was top class. The salad was extremely satisfying. The catfish was very tasty. However, its difficult to eat all fried stuff a lot. We could not finish all the fries, although the fries were good. The hush puppies were not the best one though. Overall I liked the place and definitely going back. I highly recommend the fish fries and the salad.

So delciious!! Visiting Memphis from Houston with a friend on my way to Chicago. Came here on the recommendation of a staff member at the Metal Museum. An awesome choice for sure! I had the catfish plate. She had the blackened salmon cesar salad. All of it delicious! Our waitress was super friendly. Place seemed nice and clean. Prices Reasonable. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Great local diner with lots of spirit. The decor was modern and fun. Plenty of space and seating for everyone without being cramped. Great simple easy to read menus and a specials board that is large and easy to read. Staffing was amazing. I believe the owner or manager came out to our table and greeted us. He was friendly and recommended the salmon burger, which did not disappoint. The catfish platter was great also. I ordered the collard greens and slaw with it. If we lived in the area we would visit at least once a week.

The breading on the catfish and shrimp was flavorful and just the right amount of breading. The fried pickle appetizer was great. I loved how thin they were sliced. Service was awesome. The restaurant was very clean and modern.

Nice selection of fresh choices in a casual environment. Service was quick. I enjoyed the blackened farm raised catfish. Was two filets on top of each other. This was a nice weekday meal sfter work.

Had the large catfish with collards, fried okra, and cajun cabbage. Okra was among the best I’ve had, Cabbage was slightly sweet and tangy and quite enjoyable. Collards are definitely a solid choice as well. Fish was fresh and well prepared.

Finished off with a Caramel Pecan Pie that was piping hot. Tastes like a warm cookie and almost perfect.

This place is so legit it oozes cool. Great food, great service, killer combinations. We love coming to soul fish for many reasons – blackened salmon, fried catfish, and jalapeño hush puppies to name a few.

Food was great, well cooked only thing was the fried I felt was a bit greasy but everything else was great, waitress very nice and kept up when they were busy. Manager was nice to open the door for costumers and thank them for dining in and to have a good night. Would recommend this restaurant.

Well the old lady wanted crab.lol so we
went to crab shack 102 bones first time last time.
The first waitress put her foot up on the chair as she took our order and the other Waitress that brought our food carried the steak sauce in her arm pit.yea I said the same thing.so the wife’s dish was more a gumbo.the lobster claws were fishy couldn’t eat em.after she cracked the crab it was two spoons.so here we sit in the burger king drive thru.the steak was broiled done on the out .moo moo on the in.beer was cold
And the 6 shrimp I got well you have to look at the pics.way to go Memphis we hit another.oh almost forgot the spinach dip fantastic

Everything was good up until the point I came across a long red strand of hair that was found in my shrimp scampi. After that my dinner was pretty much ruin. The waiter was really nice about replacing my dinner but by this time it’s a little to quick to get past the trauma.

Takeout turned out to be very good. I got 2 appetizers and a drink from the bar. The service was very professional and fast. Once I got back to my hotel I found all of the food to be very good.

On a cold Sunday evening walk to downtown Memphis, we came across this restaurant and decided to give it a try.

Oh boy, the food was amazing. The best part about the fried catfish, shrimps and calamari, hush puppies and everything else was that it wasn’t overly salty.

You can taste each item without any additional seasoning. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Food came out quickly and was very fresh.

Definitely a must for seafood lovers and definitely highly recommended.

Fried Fish joint serving up a plethora choices. I ordered the four shrimp, two catfish fillets. The basket came with hush puppies and fries. For starters the meal was smaller than what I figured would.be served. The catfish fillets were more like catfish bites and the hush puppies were the size of marbles.
However the flavor and the breading seemingly made up for the small portion size. Everything was piping hot and crispy. Not overly salty like most fried fish places.
The atmosphere was laid back with blues playing in the background. Very chill scene. I will be back.

Meal with a drink was around 20 bucks.

Delicious. Good chowder, and the oyster po-boy was creamy and delicious.
Our meals felt light yet filling, we didn’t finish our sides! The shrimp and catfish were crispy and nothing was greasy. Nice lemonade and iced tea to match the customer service too!

This is the definition of a Southern fish fry restaurant. Very cool atmosphere and decorations. I had the fried shrimp poor boy with french fries and hush puppies. The hush puppies were unlike any I have ever tasted. Amazing.

Great food, wonderful service! Super fun place to go and I loved my dinner. The daily Trout plate is amazing. I usually don’t eat fish skin, but this was too good and crispy to leave behind!

Definitely a cool staple of the city to see. Worth the wait!

Also, get the bread pudding for dessert

Food started strong with delicious appetizers (crayfish dip and fried crayfish tails), but then declined with the ‘so so’ oyster sampler (1/3 were amazing, 1/3 ok and the other 1/3 were drowned in chili sauce, where any semblence/taste of oyster was totally lost). Main courses (surf n turf, and grouper platter) had so much seasoning it was barely edible. Why mask the flavor of good quality fish, lobster tails or steak???? This is definitely a case of “less is more”, where spices should complement (not overpower) the natural flavors. Sides were disaapointing…grits (oddly) had no flavor or seasoning while coleslaw was already spoiled. Staff service was not terrible but far from good. Had to repeatedly ask for refills, seating 2 people at booths, and asking those 2 to move when 5 people arrived, and adding meals to bill (seemed to know already, you just had to call them out on it). Overall, if wanting seafood, there are better options

This restaurant is Downtown Memphis on Main Street; the building has separate level for parties, events, etc. We had a late lunch of Salmon (with Rice Pilaf and Steamed Broccoli) and Seafood Pasta (shrimp and scallops). The Seafood Pasta had a rich creamy sauce, but the Salmon, although grilled perfectly, wasn’t flavorful. 18% gratituity automatically added to your check. Next visit, I’ll try an Oyster entree.

Awesome experience. Tonya the bartender was awesome. Gave great advice on food. Oyster shooters are not on the menu but when we asked she got excited and they were the best shooters ever. Had 4 different oyster options all good, and the gator bites with fried jalapeno and red onions were a great starter.

A real Hum-Dingger! 😉 Great food, and service. I went on a Thursday evening about 5:00 PM, 😉 light crowd. I was the only to go order. The place was easy to find parking lot and out door covered patio in the rear. Tried 2 Fried Fish platters mine was with a ample order of some tasty seasoned French fries sprinkled with some fresh leafy sage, scalps, shrimp, hush-puppies and a fried catfish fillet, and a spoonful of slaw with what taste to me like fresh sour-cream. 1 Shrimp and Grits plate that looked so tasty with smothered onions etc… all was to go dinners about $70.00 and a tip. Very pleasant atmosphere classic soul songs playing overhead speakers, and ceiling fans all over kept the place just mild and cool. This is such a nice place to wind down and chill wit a meal. Just a skipping stone throw, from a the other Southern Comforts of Downtown Memphis, Beal Street, and the Wolf and Mississippi split off etc… 🌹😎
