True Food Kitchen is delicious and health-conscious. Me and my group of 7 enjoyed our time here! The non-alcoholic drinks are good enough but maybe slightly too “healthy” for me because I would’ve liked more sweetness. The restaurant interior is modern and comfortable and there’s a lot of parking in the garage.By Sarah Yip (6 months ago)The bartender Aaron was great and provided excellent customer service. The restaurant seemed clean and has nice decor. The food wasn’t that great. The herb hummus was good. But I didn’t like the house made pita bread. It was very flat and reminded me of a tortilla shell.
I also ordered the spaghetti squash casserole. The dish was weird. The squash was shredded like hash brown potatoes. The tomato tasted sour. The onion was understated. The cheese was cooked too long and was hard. And the overall dish was bland so I added salt and pepper. Aaron offered to take the dish and replace it with something else. However, I just kept the dish hoping it would grow on me. It didn’t.
My cousin had the watermelon salad and he enjoyed it. I am looking for restaurants that serve vegetarian options but I’m not sure if I’ll return here. I don’t think the food quality matches the price.
The restaurant wasn’t that busy but it was loud and hard to talk to the person sitting across from you.
By Whitney (5 months ago)A decent amount of gluten free options. I picked the tofu and quinoa bowl, without green beans. This was my first time ever at a True Food restaurant, and I am pleasantly impressed. The food was very fresh and healthy. My brother ordered a pizza and he was also happy with it. We also ordered the chocolate lava cake for dessert. The ice cream on top was delicious, and the cake was fine too. It’s not too sweet as it’s dark chocolate. The service was also great. We sat outside and there was no wait for a table.By Just a Countertenor (8 months ago)The place is very cute decor. The food did take a while to come around 40 minutes. The food was good, but i was pretty disappointed that the crust for the margarita pizza was burned which was a bummer. Our waiter was nice, but we kept on having to find her if we wanted something. Other than that, I would’ve given a 5 starBy Asma (3 months ago)We had a solid meal at true food. They have a broad menu including a seasonal menu which is fun to browse. The classic grass fed burger was very tasty and the sweet potato hash was excellent. They also have many seasonal juices that are similar to mocktails but are much cheaper. The prickly pear one was great. Our service was fast and the waiters were friendly.Note- there is free parking in the garage.

A delicious and delightful find whilst in Houston. The fresh food is prepared on site and the juices are mind blowing! 🤯 I wish I knew how they made the juice – they were really good. The enter choices are wonderful, plentiful and served generously. There are so many add ins offered- more veggies (the mushrooms were fab). It is refreshing to have a business like Green Seed vegan so close to the medical district too. As a patron, we are good food and supported a local business- so this meal was good for you and good for the soul too. Thank you Green Seed!By Ann Boehm (4 months ago)Amazing delicious plant based restaurant!! I was in Houston for the weekend and found this gem. Wish they exist in NYC!! They’d be super popular!! There were so many options on the menu and I wish my stomach was bigger to try more things. My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed the solburger (lovely dressing for the hemp seeds based patty!), Nori rolls, cauliflower nuggets and their smoothies. Prices are super fair in fact on the low side if one thinks about the high quality ingredients used and inflation these days! The sweet potato fries were good too not too greasy. Service was very fast and friendly. They had strawberry raw cheesecake sweetened with coconut nectar! I’d come back to Houston just for this place.By Mandy Kuo (10 months ago)Something is great about this restaurant that makes sure you visit there again, and that’s its food. One of the delicious vegan places where the fusion of right ingredients creates a tasteful memory.By Milano (a week ago)Amazingly fresh food, wonderful vegan and raw options. Great juices and a hibiscus tea that is so refreshing. Very small dining area but seats also available outside.By Eric S. (8 months ago)I’m slightly addicted! The beetroot brownies are amazingly delicious! The nori rolls and Sol wrap are my favorites! I have tried the CheeZecake and shroom Philly, the Philly was good but I’m not a fan of the size and the mushrooms were scarcely. The cheeZecake was really good but I tasted more of the raspberry filling and nut crust then I did the raw cashew cream which I definitely was expecting more cashew cream for $9 (4 oz). Service is usually fast because I always order to go, the dine in area is nice but small and tables are usually a little dirty but for the most part they are welcoming and food is delicious! I’m glad they have a lot of raw choices as well!By Jahnae King (6 months ago)

Great fresh food, wide selection of craft beers, and a great patio! Had the avocado BLT which come with an egg. It was really good. The red potato salad was great as well. Service was fast and there is a local market store right next door. There is also plenty of parking available. This place is connected to the Owl bar, will have to come check that out next time.By Horacio Garcia (a month ago)I love it. Quinoa Burger!!!!! A vegetarian burger that’s so good, you would slap your butt for not having one sooner😄. The chips are fresh and delicious and the ranch dill pickle and insta sauce are wonderful add on for dipping. 5 starsBy HenDog Wilson (9 months ago)Vibe- Like the name says, they use ingredients from all over Texas! There’s plenty of seating inside and outside too. There’s also a shop right next door where you can shop some local products. Very chill vibes!
Customer service- Great!
Food/drinks- I got a refreshing seasonal sangria, cashew queso, and a quinoa burger (didn’t like it that much but the chips were great 🙁 )
Parking- There’s plenty in the lot.
*I’ll go up to 5 stars once I find a vegan meal I like!
By Courtney Campbell (2 months ago)I visited here on a Friday evening with some friends and got their Garden Sammie, which was delicious and filling. It wasn’t too busy which was relaxing and quiet. I greatly appreciate the variety of vegetarian options. The drinks also looked unique and interesting—will definitely have to try one next time.By Jana Heady (a month ago)⚠️ Warning! Local Foods’ French fries are addictive 🍟Their burger was juice my and cooked to perfection 👌🏻 🍔

Flower Child is a great place to eat. We choosed to sit outside and do enjoy grate chairs, good food and everything that happens around you. The food is good, reasonable prices and a variety of dishes to choose from. Check the menu on the attached picture. EnjoyBy Arne Jørgen Løvland (3 months ago)This is an incredible place. When you think of healthy, you might think it’s not tasty ! This place proved me wrong. I loved the flavors in the dishes.
I visited once and started going regularly. It’s located at Uptown Park very chic.
By Ahmed Al Khenaizi (3 months ago)First time visitor to this healthy eating establishment. Pleasant surprise, very healthy and tasty. We had a Salmon and Tofu bowl. Just the right amount to feel satisfied but not stuffed.By Tom Herald (6 months ago)Came here with my family for lunch on a Sunday morning and it wasn’t very crowded. We had a very pleasant experience. The staff was nice and the food was great. Everything was fresh and delicious. The restaurant itself was very clean, well presented and had overall good vibes. I would eat here again.By Nghia Tran (a year ago)I absolutely love this place. It’s near my job and I love having a delicious and healthy lunch option nearby. Service was fantastic, they were very friendly and helpful as this was my first time there. The beyond cheeseburger was awesome. It had Chipotle which gave it a lovely kick. The sweet potato fries were possibly my favorite. I’ve had them at other places, but these were truly fantastic. I hope to come again when I’m back in Houston.By Jordan Diaz (4 months ago)I placed an online order at 3pm. The order said it would be ready at 3:40pm. I had somewhere to go at 4pm. I arrived at 3:55pm, front area seems like total chaos, never greeted or helped until I asked someone about my order. The young lady says “Oh, they’re making it now”. I ask what do you mean? She says they just started it. Unbelievable, so she says they had a lot of orders, at 4pm, the order I placed an hour before STILL wasn’t ready and she had the nerve to have an attitude. I was ready to cancel the whole order but it was already paid for. So, next she says I’m waiting on fries. My fries tasted like someone poured a 1/4 cup of Slap Yo Mama on them. In addition to the fries, I ordered bbq mushrooms and a black bean burger and potato salad. The potato salad did not look fresh at all, it looked like it had been sitting overnight uncovered and no one bothered to trash it and thought it was good for the next day. The potato salad was definitely sus. Next the bbq mushrooms, there wasn’t any bbq flavor on these and they tasted bland. The good is that maybe that’s the only thing that was fresh because they tasted earthy. I wish I could’ve had the black bean burger and enjoyed it, but the black bean burger was literally nonexistent. I had a sandwich that seemed to have more lettuce and tomatoes and other toppings than the burger. Everything was gross. I’m a foodie that loves vegan food and this ain’t it. I wished I hadn’t ordered because the bad service, bad attitudes and bad food and bad vibes was not what anyone asked for. If you want to support a BOB and want really good food try Green Seed Vegan. This is what I get for cheating on them.
There’s a lot going on here, a store, seating, some with masks, some without. It didn’t look sanitary and judging the potato salad, I doubt anyone is ServSafe certified. The potato salad alone looked like a Petrie dish of food borne illnesses waiting to happen. I’m new to Houston, but not new to vegan /plant based diets and this was horrible. I ended up wasting over $21 and threw it away. I came by recommendation, but I don’t think this person knows what true vegan food is . Also, the menu has a lot of Beyond burger and soy which I try to stay away from.
By C Young (a year ago)Usually a good spot for vegan burgers and nachos… today was a disappointment.Correct me if I’m wrong but I swear the burger is usually a big portion and a good bang for your buck, but this time I swear the burgers me and my girlfriend ordered were a lot smaller. Our burgers were cut in “half” but the other half had a small piece of beyond meat in it, I was basically eating bread on the second half.
The taste is alright but it doesn’t justify the price of a $17 burger. I spent $34 and I got 2 smaller than average burgers with not mind-blowing taste and some fries that could’ve used more seasoning… if we spent 20ish bucks I’d feel differently.
You could say the ingredients are “healthier”? Or just overall more expensive but if you want to argue it’s healthier I’d say it’s a moot point considering what I’m eating is a burger and potato fries.
Basically, try out sunshine’s for yourself but don’t be surprised if you’re still hungry afterwards.
By John Nava (2 weeks ago)I got some sea moss and a Beyond Burger with fries. It was delicious. First time eating vegan and I was happy.By Yvonna Rivera (4 months ago)Am a pescatarian, 6 month in. I have found it difficult to find a tasty burger, something with density and bold taste. Yeah I’ve explored many mainstream restaurants, which were ok, but the “Sunshine Burger”is the BOMB!!!!!!! I will be back soon to try other foods. I live on the Southside, but trust me it is worth the trip. The cook deserves a standing ovation.By Tamiko L (9 months ago)
