  I am very disappointed at this school. I’m about halfway through my online RN-BSN program and I have always worked hard on all my courses. I have managed to maintain a 4.0 GPA up to now, but I don’t know how this is going to continue. It has never been easy to do schoolwork while working as a nurse and having family and obligations at home, but I have always done it. The syllabus for the new course starting a week from now outlines a tremendous amount of work. I mean, several weeks will have 4 assignments. This is the opposite of what they advertise online and everywhere. This is not a university for people who are working and trying to balance work, life, and a degree. This is called false advertising. I agree with another reviewer who said, if you want to work yourself to death and not see your family, and not have any time at all for anything else but school – this is the school for you. I’m very disappointed at realizing the amount of work and these many assignments every week. Like I said, I’m not one that is trying to slack and procrastinate, and not do any work, and still get a degree. That is absolutely not me. I’m a hard worker but I still need to sleep at least a few hours a day, and work, and care for my family, and work on school. It is not only school in people’s lives. Yes, it is important to get a degree, but there is not only school in life. When they advertise “manageable coursework, this is the school where people who work and can get their degree, at SNHU students have a good school/life balance” Please, stay away and do not believe it. It is not true. The amount of work for this 3-credit course of an undergraduate degree is absolutely insane. I must say that this is not a capstone course. Not sure I will be as successful this term. Very disappointed. I e-mailed my advisor about my concerns. Received an email that basically minimizes my all my concerns and generalizes “I know that all students make sacrifices to get their degrees.” “Deans, students, and instructors know that this course is very heavy.” Sorry. I am stuck now that I’m halfway through but if you have a choice, look for another university. I regret not choosing Capella University. Very disappointed. Other negative aspects are the fact that instructors want you to follow the rubric, but they don’t understand it themselves. Poor communication when you ask for clarification. Poor feedback that fails to point out what to correct. Inconsistencies in grading. The most repetitive assignments that you can ever think of. They require you to repeat the same thing 20 times on the same paper in order to generate more pages or to make the assignment longer. Do yourself a favor and reconsider your choices.

  Danielle Boucher, an academic advisor at this university has been nothing but helpful and encouraging. She is the most accommodating, kind, and hardworking advisor I have ever met, and I live in Florida and have talked to many advisors at colleges here. She will not hesitate to go the extra mile for you, always changing my course plan for me and helping me achieve my dream of getting my bachelors in comp sci ASAP.   As a first year student studying online my experience here is great. Friendly staff and I have the most wonferful adviser ever! Professors are considerate and very professional the tuition is also worth it!

  The process of enrolling is very outdated and inconvenient. You don’t have a actually portal like most schools do that you watch your process flow. You depend on a advisor and callling all the time to get all info needed. If you’re lucky not to be the one of the chosen few to get picked to have a extra verification done. You have to send it photocopy of id, a utility bill, and notarized document. They requested a notarized document to verify my address then told me I couldn’t upload it, that it had to be mailed. The only reason I found out that document had to be mailed is when I called to ask why it couldn’t be uploaded. Their process is outdated and very inconvenient and really not consistent. I wouldn’t recommend this school for anyone just because of the process now it puts me in the predicament to find a new school to start at the last minute.

  I loved this school they provide an unbelievable education and connection to the local community. Something I had the joy of experiencing for most of my life. I remember going to my first sign language class there with my mother when I was around 9 years old and told everyone I was going to college. Education can create so many strong bonds and it did with me for most of my life. The one thing I am really disappointed with is the frat behavior there. I dated someone that attended UNH and is in one of your frats. They call “community service” destroying ex girlfriends and use their influence and connections to do so. I had to run to another part of the country and was eventually followed still by the frat he was part of and they eventually made it into a game. They used an amazing institution that is the foundation of not only education but a lot of great research. It’s sad when you see organizations donate money and time to something like hazing or initiation. It definitely was not only physically damaging but mentally damaging and I am afraid to even be in the general area because of it. I feared for my life. I can only hope the university will see this in the future and put a stop to it.

  I’ve gone here for almost a year now and I love it. I do not like to party. I know it’s known as a big party college but it’s nothing you can’t easily avoid and there are plenty of people who do not like to party as well. Beautiful campus with a great view. “cheap” compared to other places and has a great Computer Science department

  PSU is one of the worst colleges I have ever seen, they care very little for their students and have no room for compromise. Their online services are always buggy, and are often convoluted. You will get charged at random for things you didn’t commit, and they will rob you of your last penny. I highly recommend looking for other schools, PSU is simply not worth it.

  Updated: June 2019: (3) 🌟: I returned here to attend the graduation ceremony of my kid. I felt it was a money grab for the school administration to ask for the graduating class to join the alumni association and immediately start giving to the school. Really..?! Give the graduates a chance to live first. I have come to understand the disappointment with the teachers in the university by my kid. The program my kid originally came to the school to explore was discontinued after a year or so and my kid was left adrift to find her way out of school with what she needed to graduate. My kid started helping other kids who arrived to the school in need of help and guidance. My kid choose to get into extra programs to focus her skills and allow her to shine as an individual. My kid enjoyed living in the townhouse for almost (3) years.

  August 2015: (4) 🌟: I came here to drop off my daughter for classes. The school arranged for help for incoming students to have assistance getting the bags taken upstairs to the dorms. My daughter really enjoyed her initial visit to the school and the teachers she encountered. I liked the fact that the teachers know the kids who attend the college. I went to the cafeteria to with my daughter to sample the food and it was not bad. I had an opportunity to meet with the college President while at the school meal and was impressed with the possibilities he discussed. My kid had an issue with roommates in the dorms, but she eventually moved into another location that she enjoyed much more. My kid has enjoyed most of her time in the college with the small classes and felt that she has benefited from the smaller classes. This campus has bad cell phone service. This campus is secluded in a wooded area. This campus is not near a major city or shopping areas. There are town houses on campus. This school is expensive and small classes and different from the larger schools.

  Visited here for the Halloween trick or treating and was not disappointed! I would gladly take kids back here for that. Lots of the homes and dorms were decorated and handing out candy. Lots of people were dressed up and festive. The shuttles we’re really nice to use to get back and forth. This college also employees intellectually disabled adults and should be recognized. Definitely worth a visit! I’ve heard from lots of people that their food is really good.

  Looked at it, back in the early 90’s when it was still Franklin Pierce College. However, I didn’t end up applying. Campus was beautiful, but too small, and too isolated (for my taste) and I ended up going to Hampshire College down in Amherst, MA which was a “better fit” for me. Sat in on a couple of classes though, and had an admissions office visit and a campus tour.

  I thought the school was decent academically, but a poor choice for a creative student (VERY small outdated theater facilities in a former barn, no film or any real creative writing programs) and I don’t think I would have been happy there.

  HOWEVER, I LOVED the glassblowing studio and the natural beauty and location of the campus itself is stunning. Too rural and too isolated for me though. Also difficult to get to urban areas, it was about a 90-minute drive from Boston, which was a benefit, but still it wasn’t “my kind” of college.

  BUYER BEWARE! This school is a money grab and not worth it. This school uses marketing techniques to lure you in like $20 scholarships, overnight visits and diners. But they are not worth the final cost of $80-100k for a liberal arts degree in the middle of nowhere. This is after the so called $20k scholarship is applied.

  The campus is pretty with a lake where the President of the university built a beautiful house. This is where your money goes. They will fine your child for every little thing. Send them a bill that adds up to hundreds of dollars for things like a tear in a window screen and spills in the room. They refuse to share information with parents even if your child provides written permission for access. Then expects parents to pay with no transparency. They have a system where kids with high GPA’s stay in townhouses near the lake but you pretty much pay the same price for staying in the run down dorm rooms that are dirty and look like the housing projects if your kid has a rough start.

  The experience you have when are a perspective student is not the experience when you actually attend. My son was looking for a tight nit supportive community. However he was isolated lonely and got depressed after attending. In high school he was outgoing young man captain of his team and well adjusted. While he did make a couple friends, the students in the club teams and staff were very dismissive and totally opposite of picture painted during the open house visits. YOU DONT GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR at FP. Go to Keene State instead of you want to attend a NH school Trust me. Someone told me this before my son started and I wish I listened.
