This was our second time here and the food was still as good as the first visit. The portions are plentiful and tasty and the Sweet Tea isn’t too sweet, just the way I like it.
I ordered a Shrimp Gumbo for an appetizer which was just the right amount to share with my wife. My wife ordered a cup of Red Beans and Rice that was good as well, but it was just a tad too salty. It’s not a deal breaker and I made sure that cup was empty in the end!lol
The restaurant itself is off of I-10 just over the bridge, extremely easy to find and was only a 12 minute drive for us from the L’auberge/Golden Nugget Casinos. It’s a well kept, clean spot that definitely has that Louisiana/Cajun vibe. It’s kid friendly also, which is always a plus for us.
If you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth the stop!

First trip to SB. Played it safe with gumbo and fried shrimp. Wow we saw some stuff delivered to the tables around us that look really good. Our meal was fresh and cooked perfect. Will be back on my next trip east. Seasoning is great on the fries too.

If you like spice you’ll love the crawfish boil here! They also have great shrimp and sausage. For vegetarians they have salads and biscuits. The cheesecake was lovely also! Fun environment, busy but efficiently speedy!

This place had a line out the door but once you get inside, you see why. Plenty of hungry people patiently waiting because what’s inside is worth the wait. Friendly Staff that keep this place running smoothly and efficiently. Fish was fried to perfection, nice, light and fluffy with the perfect amount of breading. Boudin Balls were cooked perfectly and served steaming hot. Soft Shell Crab was again cooked to perfection. Wonderful Place!

Our 1st stop on the way to NOLA! Steamboat Bills is a must stop for great Creole cooking! Chicken and Sausage gumbo was very flavourful, the fish po boy was delicious down to the last bite! Wife’s butterfly shrimp was amazing! Don’t miss out on some great Louisiana food stop!

My pops brought me here for lunch. I really just can’t complain. The place was pretty busy but the cashiers and servers kept people tended to really quickly. Delicious, hot, food going all over the place. I got the fried fish and medium shrimp plate. It came with fries, a large portion of fried shrimp, two fried fish filets, a biscuit roll thing, and a mayo based coleslaw. They had tartar sauce on tap. The food was imaginary dragon while chewing hot. I really enjoyed my meal. The atmosphere was good too, I love that there is so much stuff everywhere to look at. They did have multiple tvs. The menu was pretty large and I’ll be honest I struggled with deciding what to get because they have so many great choices. The smell in there is so good, like a crawfish boil. I didn’t use their bathroom so I can’t comment on that but the tables and dining area was clean. The service was top notch.

Not a looker but the food is magnificent! The inside of the restaurant is super clean and staffed with some amazing people! Everybody was incredibly welcoming and eager to help. Mom and I had a shrimp po-boy that we could have split but the leftovers were a great treat the next day! The bread was so soft and the shrimp overflowing! This place is definitely a must if you come to Lake Charles, LA!!

Very informal cafeteria style eatery, food was good and well priced. They were unfortunately out of oyster for the day so I got the fish and shrimp combo. Catfish was good, shrimp was a bit dry. Crab cake has plenty of crab but was a bit on the cold side.

Service slow to start but they were busy and we wound up with good quality service. Food was delicious and fresh. Tarter sauce homemade and on point. We had seafood platter between myself and I perfect amount of food. We will return.

A different seafood restaurant with good smells and menu items I didn’t expect (crab rangoon and fried rice).

Location: across from the mall, easy to get to. Decent parking lot, but it can full up.

Atmosphere: clean, large. I felt I had privacy and not too close to others. Booths and tables available. Also a bar area.

Food: many options- calamari, crab rangoon, crab salad, fries, crawfish, fish, shrimp, poboys, boiled eggs, onion rings, pickles, oysters, chicken tenders, frog legs, gumbo, potatoes, lobster, crab legs. I ordered the crab rangoon and they were good. I also ordered the catfish basket with fries and crab salad. I really enjoyed it, but I feel like they have alot of sodium in their food. I don’t have blood pressure issues, but I felt it in my face after eating. I did not like that they do not allow substitutions for their grilled items (seafood with rice and broccoli). This made no sense to me- what if someone can’t eat the rice and just hates broccoli? I don’t see why they can’t sub it with a potato/fried and corn. My friend also ordered boiled eggs as a side- we were expecting like cajun boiled but nope, just plain ole boiled eggs for $2!

Service: Nice but there to get the job done. Friendly, but not personable. Very quick to take order.

Prices: expensive. Compared to other crawfish locations, this place is $8 or $9/lb where others have been $6/lb. That’s crazy. Also, some if their large ticket items (seafood house platter for $98) just doesnt seem to be fairly priced. My catfish basket was $13 and that felt fair.

Wife and I visited here today for lunch. Our server Chastity gave excellent service. Seafood gumbo was truly amazing and honestly the biggest bowl I’ve ever received for $10. Everything we ordered was really good with the exception of the chargrilled oysters. They came on the half shell and very tiny. I would say smaller than ones you’d find in a can. And they didn’t taste very well either. I would definitely visit again next time I’m in the area.

Wife and I made reservations to go here about 2 weeks ago. We haven’t been since it re-opened and wanted to get back at it since we missed it.
Circled the lot and found a decent spot, but this place usually (and later it did) has vehicles parked in the grass.
We were greeted promptly by the host stand and confirmed our reservation. The first thing that stood out from our previous visit was the open feeling to it. No more darker foyer and closed off walls. Open feeling, yet still “divided” areas to identify the bar area and general dining.
The place was pretty full and would continue to gather more and more as the night went on. Wife and I made our way over to the bar to order something to drink since we arrived about 30-40 mins early intentionally to have a drink and talk, but also observe the environment. Very laid back and comfortable environment. It always seems like a place you’d dress up in jeans and collared shirt at a minimum, yet it’s typically full of those wearing shorts and fishing shirts, or the other ways of sports jackets and slacks. Not critiquing, just an observation.
Our bartender got our order for drinks. Wife ordered a bloody mary with no idea of how it’d be presented or prepared, but wasn’t disappointed. Made well and garnished accordingly. I simply ordered a double of apple crown on the rocks. Mine was $20 and hers was $16. We sat in the waiting area and enjoyed each others company while we waited and chatted. Bartender was Lindsey and was very polite and attentive to us.
We were sat about 3-5 minutes before our scheduled reservation. Our server was Victoria. A wonderfully pleasant lady that greeted us with a smile, was extremely polite and attentive, and made great suggestions. We simply had water as our drinks once seated to eat.
We started with a trio of appetizers. First we split a single crab cake and this would be the precursor of how our night would go. Very good, well done and flavorful.
As though being escorted by the crabcake, the 2 cups followed it holding our shrimp and okra gumbo and the lobster bisque. Both very good, sized and served right, and full of flavor.
Entrée consisted of a stuffed red snapped topped with shrimp étouffée. Great flavor and consistency. Portion was on point. Sides were a garden salad and asparagus. Asparagus were seasoned with more than just butter and black pepper and it was obvious. Very good! Seemed to be just slightly overcooked according to my wife, and I’d agree. Not enough to raise a fuss at all though, as they’re still pretty good. Other entrée was the seafood pasta. It didn’t wow me like the rest of the meal did, but it’s not to say that it wasn’t very good or full of flavor. We both enjoyed it very much. It was served with a garden salad as well, along side the sweet potatoe casserole. It was topped/crusted with brown sugar and pecans. By my own fault, I burned my mouth haha. But we both enjoyed it and it was almost like a dessert for us.
Unfortunately, we can’t eat near as much as we used to, so getting to-go boxes and skipping dessert were the wise choices made. We were kinda bummed about it, but knew we were in no shaped to do otherwise. Final bill on dinner portion was $119.00. So we dropped about 2 bills for the entire night with tips.
We were very happy with the visit and plan to attend again. It was very good to see the refresh done and a local place back up and running after the extreme years 2020-2021 placed on our area. Having a pleasant server and great chefs make coming back here a simple decision. Keep it up!

Pats of Henderson’s is back! Delicious food – I could tell the main entree was cooked with fresh local ingredients. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the sides tasted as if they had been frozen. But still a delightful meal. ❤️

Pat’s was another restaurant suggested to me by coworkers from Lake Charles. Tried it out when my girlfriend came to visit and we were both impressed. It has an upscale vibe from the time you walk in, and the food followed suit. It wasn’t overly fancy, though. I would say more of an elevated homestyle menu. The food was delicious, and prices were very reasonable for the environment. The drink menu was big and offered a lot of signature cocktails. The prices were higher for the drinks, but they were fantastic. I’m from South Texas and wouldn’t have expected a Louisiana restaurant to serve the perfect margarita, but they did. Simple and classic, very much on point. Highly recommend.

We were blown away with Pat’s of Henderson! Even though we were driving through town, they accommodated us quickly with a reservation, and we had one of the best Cajun meals we’ve ever had. Every dish we tried was truly outstanding and incredibly delicious. The gumbos and etufées were out of this world; the boudin and hushpuppies delicate and delicious. The grilled asparagus was the best I’ve ever had!

The entire staff was courteous, friendly, and professional. The atmosphere was elegant without being stuffy, giving guests the ability to not feel out of place if dressed casually. Prices were very fair. Extra points for the gorgeous decor and attention to detail. A true Cajun food gem in Lake Charles, LA. Highly recommend! 💎💎💎💎💎
