Had the $9 egg breakfast. It was great. Not too much food, not greasy. Really enjoyed the local kelp hot sauce. It got busier there closer to 9am but still not uncomfortable. Service was attentive and friendly. Very grateful for the quick wifi. I didn’t realize the orange juice was $6, but it is fresh squeezed and delicious.

The place has a beautiful view, good service, was there for breakfast, my benedict eggs were good and fresh squeezed orange juice.
I love that they have events downstairs lounge. Definitely the best Cocktails in town!

Was visiting Sitka for a few days and decided to give Mean Queen a try. It was Monday Night Football, but I was able to get a table and waited on timely by Walter considering it was busy. I had the Greek Salad and the Imperial Pie. Both were great as was the service!

I’ve been cruising through Alaska all week and no one has oysters. The good people of Sitka directed me to the Mean Queen, a classic bar, which has outstanding local oysters.

Had a very good experience here today. Fresh caught King Salmon on a cedar plank with amazing kale salad, salmon macaroni, and smoked salmon nachos. All tasted amazing and photo worthy. Prices reasonable too, in a historic building right in downtown next to the harbor. Our new favorite Sitka restaurant. We’re only here for 4 days this visit, but we’ll eat there at least one more time before we leave.

Check this place out for sure! BEAK was such a great find!! We stumbled upon this place on Google while sitting at another restaurant in Sitka who stuck us in a dark corner in a back room. So glad we decided to walk out after 10 minutes passed by and no one came by to wait on us. The Beak had fabulous food and we walked right in and was seated immediately and had exceptional, super friendly service. I cannot tell you how delighted we were to have accidentally found this place. I highly recommend supporting this small business and you will not be disappointed in the food and service. One thing that really stood out the most is they do not accept tips because their staff is paid a living wage. OUTSTANDING!! 🥰 5 stars for food. 5 stars for service. 5 stars for atmosphere.

Place looks a bit odd, but is a little secret. It seems to be very well liked by the locals. Space is shared with a radio station, which is kinda cool. Space is very funky and unique but on good ways. Each table is a different dining set (love that idea) and have outside seating too. They do not have a large menu, but what they do have is very unique and full of flavor. They really put together some wonderful belly filling meals. Alcohol and coffee selection is also very nice. Staff are extremely friendly and they do not accept tips here, who does that anymore?! Definitely try this place out if you are in port.

This is a super chill diner with some awesome food options. The salmon mac-n-cheese is so good! They only had a couple beers on tap but have a few options in a can. Everything was delicious and the service is excellent and we enjoyed our dinner very much.

One of my favorite places in Sitka. Place is small but welcoming, the nicest kindest waiter, good quality food, nice taste, beautiful plating, good location, with vegan options and a small menú but an interesting creative proposals with an array of different local proteins to try out like reindeer, elk, salmon, rockfish,etc. Would love to have more variety of desserts other than ice cream, such as pies…

New ownership has transformed this place. What an amazing turnaround!
I now consider this to be the best airport restaurant in the world.
The legendary pies are still going strong and they’ve treated me amazingly well in three trips up there this year.

What a horrible bartender. She threw everyone out of the restaurant with 5 minutes to go in the biggest Seahawks game of the year and locked the door with an entire plane load of people wanting to get in because she wanted to go home instead of waiting 6 more minutes and making more money. She wouldn’t even let my mother stay and watch the end of the game while she closed up.

Unbelievable. I’ve never seen anything like it. She must be a former or future government bureaucrat.

Surprised, because the food vastly exceeded my expectations. As yummy as the patty melt was, I think Ill roll the dice and try one of the rockfish (or other seafood options) next time we come.

And the staff was Entirely on point despite being hit with a sudden influx of customers due to AA offering us comped meals due to our flight being cancelled for mechanical issues. Nice job guys! Thanks.

Holy cow. Day 67 on the Inside Passage. We’ve been in grocery stores all the way up from Seattle. This has got to be the best one yet. Incredible selection of goods, including a large Costco section. They even have German rye that is hard to find in a large city like Seattle. On top of all that, they’re open 24 hours. One mile walk from marina.

The grocery store is probably the most well stocked in town.

Lets talk about the attached liquor store. This place has a huge selection of spirits. They had bottles I had never even heard of. They were limited on the real high end bottles, but that’s a given based on price ($200+ bottle). I was most impressed with their scotch selection, they had as much selection as a typical liquor store in Southern California.

Terrible customer service. Called last week while trying to make an online order because the system wasn’t working. Spoke to a Heather who was the rudest person I’ve ever encountered on the phone. In a nutshell, I feel she was discriminating against me the second I told her I was a parent of a student at MEHS. She continually used phrases like “you people” and was not helping me with issue I was having with their online system; instead she spend her energy on accusing me of not knowing how to enter the address properly. In the end, she flat out told me to order from a different store. Never offered to take a phone order or to help me out at all. What’s worse, I submitted a ‘contact us’ on their website to report the poor customer service and have never heard back.
