Initially very concerned that San Marcos Toyota will have lots of hidden dealer installed options to be forced me to buy because of their $10,000 discount. I am from Houston and driving almost 3 hours for purchase. When I arrived, the Tundra was cleaned, gas up, and ready for delivery. After a quick test drive, we discussed drive out pricing. The price was exactly as the price offered on the phone/internet. Didn’t add a dime. A very honest salesman, sales manager, and dealer! Then at financial office, I wanted to buy extended warranty 72/100k and the price is much lower than I expected. Another win ?. I will definitely recommend San Marcos Toyota to my friends and colleagues. TERRIBLE! I wish I could leave 0 stars. I’ve had 2 very negative experiences.
1. I got the panel for my driver side door replaced because my window would not roll up. Since then, every time it rains, my door fills up with water and I have to manually drain it. I told them, and they said it was probably happening before and it’s not their problem. It most certainly was not happening before.
2. I just spent $4500 to get my car fixed for another issue, and they had it for over a month. After getting it back, it starts intermittently, and I have been stranded in multiple places because it won’t turn on. I had no issue with this before leaving it with them. I have been trying to work with them on this, and have been calling them non-stop for the past 3 days. Not once has anyone answered the phone. I have left about 20 voicemails and I get no call back. Previously, I waited on hold so long that I was able to drive from Austin to San Marcos in rush hour traffic, and they still didn’t come to the line. I went directly to them, and when I went in the office, they were just sitting there ignoring the flashing hold line.
Basically, don’t waste your time or money with these incompetent people. They will “fix” your issue, but send you home with a plethora of additional issues.
This was the best and smoothest experience I’ve ever had purchasing a vehicle. Charles and Cody took care of me and made this process extremely easy. 10/10 experience and I would give more stars if I could. I will definitely be referring this dealership and will be using them in the future!
