Bought a car grand Cherokee 50 miles off the lot, 4WD gave out, lane assist malfunction keeping driver light on, AC doesn’t work during San Diego heat wave (I had no issues during test drive), 3 weeks and they still haven’t looked at the car. Returned it for another vehicle Volvo xc90, 25 miles off the lot panoramic roof is stuck and 12 volt fault and AC doesn’t work. Still waiting to receive car back they just finally looked at it after having it for 2 weeks. They have me driving a small crossover as the loaner when I bought a luxury SUV.
I got a great car it had a software issue CarMax immediately got to the issue I was given a loaner car and I had the option within my 30 day hassle free return option period to decide if I wanted to continue with this purchase but I’m grateful for this situation to occur due to its a used vehicle and Chevy warranty is the responsible party to resolve this so had I purchase this car from another dealer without the 30 trial period most of the inconvenience attached to this would have become my problem and I would. Have been upset but I will have a vehicle free of possible major wear and tear issues that are becoming a occurrence in multiple vehicles of this particular type and I assuming that initial situations aren’t known but the problem is covered by the dealer once they have knowledge of this but I m just grateful to have this service and to be covered by all means by CarMax they made my used car purchase worth special thanks to Rene g he’s a fantastic sales rep with true integrity personally thank u car max for my dream car

Amazing customer service!!! Unfortunately, had to return my initial car due to mechanical issues however the customer service that I received from the floor manager, sales person (Elena), business office and the car service department was excellent. Everyone was sympathetic to concern and went above and beyond to make me feel at ease and make it right! Elena has been simply wonderful! After pandemic it has been difficult to find the customer service that we are accustomed to, and I must say that CarMax Kearny Mesa is working very hard to achieve that customer satisfaction!
Sold my car there, left my daughter’s booster seat in the back, staff said it was “gone” after less than an hour of my vehicle being sold. I had to call back multiple times and be left on hold before I got an answer. Michael Holmes gave me a call the following day to apologize and reimburse me up to $50 dollars of the replacement seat($65). Very nice of him to make things right and take accountability for the business office staff after my daughter’s booster seat allegedly “disappeared”.
Other than this unfortunate event, my car selling experience was an absolute breeze. I was in able to make an appointment and be in and out in less than hour.
