  1. Preparation: Laying the Groundwork for a Successful Search: Before embarking on your Craigslist car-hunting journey, it’s crucial to lay the groundwork for a successful search. This includes:

• Defining Your Needs and Budget: Clarify your requirements, whether it’s fuel efficiency, cargo space, or seating capacity. Set a realistic budget that aligns with your financial capabilities.

• Research and Knowledge: Familiarize yourself with different makes, models, and their specifications. Research common issues associated with specific vehicles to avoid potential pitfalls.

• Safety First: Prioritize safety by ensuring you have adequate insurance coverage and a valid driver’s license.

  1. Navigating Craigslist: Uncovering Hidden Gems: Craigslist’s vastness can be daunting, but with the right approach, you can uncover hidden gems.

• Utilize Search Filters: Narrow down your search by applying filters such as make, model, year, price range, and location. This will help you quickly sift through irrelevant listings.

• Save Searches: Set up saved searches to receive email alerts when new listings matching your criteria are posted.

• Patience and Persistence: Finding the ideal car may take time. Be patient and persistent in your search, regularly checking Craigslist for new listings.

  1. Evaluating Listings: Discerning the Truth from Fiction: Critically evaluate each listing to identify genuine opportunities from potential scams.

• Scrutinize Photos: Pay attention to the quality and quantity of photos. High-resolution images from multiple angles provide a clearer representation of the vehicle’s condition.

• Read Descriptions Thoroughly: Look for detailed descriptions that provide information about the car’s history, mileage, and any modifications or repairs made.

• Beware of Red Flags: Be wary of listings with vague descriptions, excessive use of exclamation marks, or overly aggressive pricing. These could be signs of potential scams.

  1. Contacting Sellers: Initiating Communication and Scheduling Viewings: Once you’ve identified promising listings, it’s time to reach out to sellers.

• Initial Contact: Send a concise message expressing your interest in the vehicle and requesting additional information or photos if necessary.

• Scheduling Viewings: Arrange a time and location for viewing the car in person. Choose a well-lit area during daylight hours to thoroughly inspect the vehicle.

  1. Inspection and Test Drive: Unveiling the True Condition: During the viewing, conduct a meticulous inspection and test drive to assess the car’s condition.

• Visual Inspection: Check for signs of damage, rust, or excessive wear and tear. Pay attention to the interior, including upholstery, dashboard, and electronics.

• Test Drive: Take the car for a spin to evaluate its performance, handling, and any unusual noises or vibrations. Test various features such as brakes, lights, and air conditioning.

  1. Negotiation and Safe Purchase: Securing the Deal and Protecting Your Interests: If the car meets your expectations, it’s time to negotiate a fair price and ensure a safe purchase.

• Negotiation: Approach negotiations with respect and professionalism. Be prepared to walk away if the seller is unwilling to compromise on a reasonable price.

• Payment and Paperwork: Always use secure payment methods and request a bill of sale and title transfer documents. Verify the vehicle’s history and ensure all paperwork is in order.

Conclusion: Craigslist offers a vast marketplace for buying and selling cars in Sacramento, providing opportunities to find great deals and reliable vehicles. By following this comprehensive guide, you’ll be equipped with the knowledge and strategies to navigate Craigslist effectively, uncover hidden gems, and make informed decisions. Sacramento (Spanish for 'sacrament') ( SAK-rə-MEN-toh; Spanish: [sakɾaˈmento]) is the capital city of the U.S. state of California and the county seat of Sacramento County. Located at the confluence of the Sacramento and American Rivers in Northern California's Sacramento Valley, Sacramento's 2020 population of 524,943 makes it the fourth-most populous city in Northern California, sixth-most populous city in the state, and the ninth-most populous state capital in the United States. Sacramento is the seat of the California Legislature and the Governor of California.
Sacramento is also the cultural and economic core of the Greater Sacramento area, which at the 2020 census had a population of 2,680,831, the fourth-largest metropolitan area in California. Before the arrival of the Spanish, the area was inhabited by the Nisenan, Maidu, and other indigenous peoples of California. Spanish cavalryman Gabriel Moraga surveyed and named the Río del Santísimo Sacramento (Sacramento River) in 1808, after the Blessed Sacrament. In 1839, Juan Bautista Alvarado, Mexican governor of Alta California, granted the responsibility of colonizing the Sacramento Valley to Swiss-born Mexican citizen John Augustus Sutter, who subsequently established Sutter's Fort and the settlement at the Rancho Nueva Helvetia. Following the American Conquest of California and the 1848 Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo, the waterfront developed by Sutter began to be developed and incorporated in 1850 as the City of Sacramento. In 1852, the city offered its county courthouse to the state of California to house the state legislature, resulting in the city becoming the permanent state capital in 1854 and ushering in the construction of a new state capitol building which was finished in 1874.Sacramento is the fastest-growing major city in California, owing to its status as a notable political center on the West Coast and as a major educational hub, home of California State University, Sacramento and UC Davis. Similarly, Sacramento is a major center for the California healthcare industry, as the seat of Sutter Health, the world-renowned UC Davis Medical Center, and the UC Davis School of Medicine. In 2013, the Sacramento Convention and Visitors Bureau stated that the city receives 15.3 million visitors per year, and is home to the California Museum, Crocker Art Museum, California State Railroad Museum, California State Capitol Museum, California Hall of Fame, and Old Sacramento State Historic Park. It is also a global city, designated at the Gamma − level.

We have been looking for a car for awhile but never had a good experience anywhere else. At M&S auto we where welcomed by everyone but Jason the sales associate took his time to narrow down what we where looking for. He was patient and took everything we said into consideration. After his expert advice we found the car we loved. Then we met the Financial department and everyone was helpful and nice. When picking the car up the next day they had it cleaned and detailed . 10 out of 10 for over all experience and hospitality.

It’s been almost a year since I picked up my current vehicle from M&S. No major issues yet, vehicle was serviced before I owned it and looks like I picked a good one. Huge thank you to Ronnie and his service team for what they do, great guys all around. They let me into the shop to look at the car same day they got it, signed papers on it later.

I am not giving a full five stars because of the actual sales experience. Over three hours of paper signing because I was a first time car buyer. I was asked at least three times to buy an extended warranty and to add a GPS tracker. I flat out refused. I work in automotive and I know these things are an unnecessary expense. They eventually agreed to take both off the deal but come on guys, if a customer says I don’t want it, listen to them the first time!!

No matter what you buy or who you buy it from, DO YOU RESEARCH. Learn about the car you’re buying. Check maintenance, title status, see the car in person. Be smart, you are forking over a lot of money. If I needed to buy again and M&S had the car I was looking for, I would consider them again. Thanks again to Ronnie and his service team.

To be honest, this 5 star review is just for Jason, the sales person we worked with originally. He was super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Everything you wish your car salesman would be. If it weren’t for Jason, I would be giving a 3.5. After we were helped in a timely manner by Jason, we waited close to an hour before our next sales associate even came by the table to acknowledge us. Luckily we were already motivated buyers but they would have lost a sale if it weren’t for Jason. So my advice would be to request Jason when you stop in!!

Thank you M&S Auto for providing me with excellent service, no confusion whatsoever with this company. Everyone here are professional, informative and upfront with the car buying process. I’ve heard great things from people, and they were never regretful. This is why I chose to buy my car here! I’m very pleased with my purchase and my experience, thanks guys it was fun!

Talk about a terrible time. Started with the wait, wasn’t helped, wasn’t acknowledged. Once we we’re approached we were lead to the vehicle and handed the keys. Probably the only smoothest efficient part of the experience. Once we got back we waited for the sales associate, and yet again with no luck we waited. Finally found a vehicle that I liked and proceeded to want to further with the sale. When I informed them that I was already financed they informed me that they don’t take personal financing. SO BASICALLY they want you to run your credit again and run it though their bank. After an hour of wasting more time and dealing with a very disrespectful finance director we decided that we’ll run the credit and then they proceed to tell us the car won’t be ready until tomorrow. And we hadn’t even gotten to negotiations the prices yet. Moral of the story. I’d highly recommend you go through an actual reputable dealership. The sales associate and their manager where awful. I could go on but don’t waste your time. There’s plenty of cars else where.

  1. They make it very easy to buy a car. They will appraise your trade-in vehicle for free.
They do all the DMV paperwork for you . And you walk out with a new, to you, car!
My mother needed a car and they were just amazing. Great experience

  2. I did everything online, from “shopping” to the financing process, which was all super easy! The staff was pleasant when I did express pick up! All that was left for me to do was test drive to make sure it was actually a good fit & sign the DMV paperwork. The only reason I gave 3 stars is because the inside of the vehicle was actually really dirty still. I had to have it detailed after I picked it up. I get that it’s a used vehicle and it isn’t going to be perfect, but there was crusty gross stuff on the E brake, dust covering the air vents, etc etc. These things could’ve easily been wiped down during the cleaning process when they acquired the vehicle. Otherwise a seamless process though. Highly recommend the online process. Quick and easy, pickup took less than 20 minutes!

  3. I was preparing to be disappointed on my way to my appointment after getting an estimate value if my truck I needed to sell.
I was very surprised to see a very clean and very busy place. It was a Saturday so it was packed full of buyers and some sellers like me.
I brought all my documents so the process was smooth. They looked over my truck and gave me my officially offer which matched the online offer and my own estimate.
Very nice and trusted process. I was not concerned at all once I had my bank draft in my hand. All in less than 2 hours.

  4. I’ve always been skeptical about CarMax, but they had a hard-to-find car that I really wanted, so I decided to check them out. I was blown away in every respect. This was by far the best used car experience I’ve ever had. The staff were super low key and friendly. The car was in good shape at a fair price. And they gave me a lot more for my trade in than the Toyota dealer had offered. This was the first time I’ve ever bought a car from a business and experienced zero sliminess or trickery. If I ever need a used car again, I’ll be shopping at CarMax!

  5. Our sales person, Mame, was so personable and easy to deal with. As expected at CarMax there was so pressure and no vulture behavior like at other dealerships. The only reasons we didn’t give 5 stars was because in this current climate, I wish we could have negotiated the price a little and because the car was not detailed and was missing the owners manual. We were told we could submit receipts for both and be reimbursed. Overall it was a very positive experience and so far we are very happy with the car.
