Sorry for the long text, but I purchased a vehicle from M&D back in 2010, it was a 2005 impala. It’s 2023 now and I’m still getting sued, paycheck garnished til this day. True! vehicle was over priced, but I was new in Little Rock and needed transportation, my credit was not the best, but fair. The vehicle ran for about 8 months before I started having problems. From then on, it was one issue behind another, Unbelievable. I could no longer afford to continue fixing the vehicle and make payments and insurance on time anymore, while paying bills, single. The car got repoed. The finance company that they use, Credit Acceptance is like a Demon that continues to disrupt my life, Garnishing my check, but was not willing to accept the dollar amount I offered that I could afford to pay. It’s been 13 years, the amount is to much to maintain and live at the same time. these people don’t understand nor care. Straight cut throat if you can’t afford to keep the vehicle. These people will take the car back, and you still gotta pay for the car no matter what. And will not compromise on your willingness to make payments that you can afford to clear the debt. These people will ride you until Jesus come back for they money. 13 years later! I purchased an over priced 2011 Ford Edge from Car-Mart a year ago, because I needed a vehicle and my friend recommended them to me as one of my only options at the moment. Car-Mart charged me over $18,000 for the vehicle (overall $21,000) when other dealers are selling used Ford Edge’s for $14,000 and $15,000 with less miles then this one had. Since pulling off the lot, the vehicle had multiple problems such as not letting me know that the vehicle was low on transmission fluid and the transmission could had blown out. The brake repair was an $1,000 job, and replacing tries was another $1,000 cost. However, as I went in to speak with finance and other reps at the lot from time to time, I notice that this used dealer don’t care about helping the customer with their vehicle unless you are purchasing one. I was recently in a wreck that total the vehicle, mind you car-mart offers a “Peace of Mind” debt cancellation package BUT since I changed my insurance type because I couldn’t afford it at one point there is nothing Car-Mart can do because they couldn’t benefit from my insurance to cover the cost of the vehicle. So, corporate in APP claims mentioned something about possibility getting into another car and adding the balance from the current car to continue paying on it while financing another car, and included the manager in the conversation. Since the accident I had to Uber back and forward working with the General Manager it being one thing to another as there nothing we can do to possibility charging the car as collateral and financing a new one, then the person who needed to override was on vacation and the process was on halt until the following week. Once the following week came, I Uber back to the lot and waited 30 mins to learn that there still wasn’t nothing they can do and now I have car with them that’s undrivable and that they want me to pay for. Understand if you finance a car from Car-Mart, these folks don’t really care about you once you sign that dotted line and have driven off the lot. They say they are here to keep you on the road but if they are not benefiting from it other then the amount you owe on the vehicle, they don’t care if you stay on the road or not. I guess because these are “Used Cars” and you basically purchasing “As Is.” This might of happened for a reason, a reason to not deal with Car-Mart anymore at this point. I am been through a lot since the beginning with this dealer and now I am in more debt because of them.
They helped me get a car i really wanted with a reasonable payment plan!! Happy isn’t the word!
