  My experience with CarMax has been my best experience with a car dealership in my entire life (50 years old). By a long shot! From the sales department to the service department (Chinda & Carina), I was treated like, “The customer is king”. Nothing was high pressure. The numbers we talked about were the actual real numbers I was dealing with when I signed paperwork. Do you know what I’m talking about? I’ve dealt with so many dealerships that make HUGE promises about saving me money and low monthly payments that I could afford, but when I start signing contracts, the numbers are not what we talked about. With CarMax I went through the pre-approval on line, I went through the trade-in online, and when we sat down with paperwork, the numbers stayed the same. AND … CarMax sold me a car in 2 hours! We’ve been dealing with a certain dealership for literally 20 years and it always takes 5-6 hours to buy a car. When I was done at CarMax I thought they were pulling my leg. I thought we were just getting started and we were just getting finished. I have no idea if every location is as good as the Fresno location, but the Fresno location is an 11/10, recommend, I will buy my next car from them.

  I took a 2020 Silverado LTZ hoping to get a fair price and was offered 1/2 of what NADA values ($41k) for this vehicle in “rough” condition. Rough” is branded (salvage) title, significant mechanical defects, heavily soiled interior, inoperable features, false miles or requires substantial repairs to be resold. This is a CLEAN title, true mileage, currently registered, run and drive, everything works, has 6” aftermarket lift kit with 30” tires…..I got offered $20k??? NADA pricing in current condition is $45k….I was hoping, at the very least, $30k or $35k.

  Initial purchase was fine but I purchased a fairly expensive vehicle with warranty even though vehicle is 2 years old and still has factory warranty. The night I brought the car home I realized one headlight housing is ruined. Hazed from the inside. I called and they told me no problem they know of the issue and to bring it in. I set up an appointment for a week away and when I came in I waited over an hour for them to look the part up and realize it’s way too much money and refused to fix it. Now I have to wait 2 months to get into the Porsche dealership just to get them to look at the car and then they will order the part which will probably be another month. I understand it CAN probably be replaced under factory warranty, but why wouldn’t CarMax do this before they sold the car. I can see in the system it was at a Porsche dealership just prior to me shipping the car up to my local CarMax. And then not to stand behind a sale? No. I won’t use them again. And I’ll tell everyone I know they don’t care once a vehicle is sold. Warranty or not. I know it’s first world problems but they hid a defect and refused to make good on it and it’s still money, and time, regardless. Not a good experience. Lesson learned.

  This place is OK. The wife just bought a new Ford Explore this evening. She knew exactly what she wanted so she was satisfied. My self on the other hand, I enjoy haggling the car dealers and trying to getting them to come down on the price and this definitely ain’t the right place for that lol. They have a decent selection of used cars not very many trucks though. Over all experience we were satisfied.
