  This was the first time I bought a car through Carmax, and it was a great experience. I would recommend it to anyone. The only gripe I had was the fee for shipping the car from California to Illinois. It took about 10 days for the car to arrive, and cost $1899. For that amount, and that much time, since I’m retired, I could’ve flown out to California, and driven the car home for a lot less, I think. But the next car I buy will definitely be from Carmax.   Cliff made the purchase process so simple…we were in and out of there in no time with ZERO pressure. When I purchased the vehicle, the stereo wasn’t working, and they were waiting on a replacement. I opted to leave without it and bring it back another time to get it worked on. Andrew was SO great about communicating and working with my schedule to replace the stereo. They even came to my work to get it and deliver it back to me! The whole team, including JP, was friendly and committed to making sure all issues were resolved.

  I just got this car in July and right off there were issues. These cars are overpriced and not worth it. The guy was all nice when he was getting me to get this pos but now he has become a jerk after he got the sale. PLEASE PLEASE take this advise. Just save up for a down payment to go through a regular car dealership. If i could go back I would have saved up and then went to a place that offered the car I wanted and the prices i wanted to pay. They arent forgiving if you have trouble making a payment. I cant wait to pay this off and never use them again.

  Definitely dont recommend!!! We bought a car from there & have had nothing but problems! Had my car a year, havent drove it but maybe 4-5 months out of the year. As im typing this, my car has been sitting for a month without use. They sure do make sure to call me 75 times a day when they want the money for it though. Have paid more money fixing this vehicle then paid towards my loan. They wont pay for it & theyll tell you “what do you expect its a car, thats what happens everywhere you get a car.” – Destinee R.

  Clearly from all of the reviews this place is absolutely terrible. An it is, I recently bought my car from this place an the day after a friend bought on in Champaign (I went with him) the difference is night an day. Champaign cares about the customer, Bloomington don’t give a damn about you. Just the money. My suggestion, go to Champaign because I regret not doing so.

  If I could give less than 1 star I would. Bought our car almost a year ago. THE DAY WE GOT HOME it started making noise and when I turned left the tire light all wheel drive light break light and engine light all would come on. Took it to a mechanic that byrider told me to…..they said it needed to go to a gm dealer. They made an appointment. I took it. They didn’t fix it. Took it to another mechanic. We have had the car in the shop more than not and now they are saying there is nothing they can do. In angry

  Bought my car roughly 1 year ago and have had nothing but problems. It’s been in and out of the shops 4 different times. I’ve waited months to have it fixed and almost every time they want me to pay out of pocket to have it fixed. I just had to call because I now have another problem and I’m being told theirs nothing they can do about it that because it’s not covered on their warranty. I don’t recommend them in the long run you pay more for the car to be fixed then what your car is worth.
