The city also adopted "Silicon Hills" as a nickname in the 1990s due to a rapid influx of technology and development companies. In recent years, some Austinites have adopted the unofficial slogan "Keep Austin Weird", which refers to the desire to protect small, unique, and local businesses from being overrun by large corporations. Since the late 19th century, Austin has also been known as the "City of the Violet Crown", because of the colorful glow of light across the hills just after sunset. In 1987, Austin originated and remains the site for South by Southwest (stylized as SXSW and colloquially referred to as South By), an annual conglomeration of parallel film, interactive media, and music festivals and conferences that take place in mid-March.
Emerging from a strong economic focus on government and education, since the 1990s, Austin has become a center for technology and business. My car broke down, and I was stuck without a way to work, I came across dynamic motors on Facebook, and Ashlin reached out to me, she was very nice and walked me through the whole process. She responded to every question I had I know I wasn’t pleasant to work with, but she got me into the car that I needed. If y’all need a car, I would go with dynamic motors and ask for Ashlin

My family and I are very Happy with the excellent service that was provided last night. We were able to drive off in a 2015 Ford escape. Don is a standup guy, he was amazing help throughout the process. Caro was also very helpful from the very beginning a few weeks back when we put ourselves in the market for a vehicle. Lastly, Mr. Michael Fish was very thorough and informative with helping us understand the contract. Love all the communication, that is the key to our current and future business together. We will be referring family in the near future to Dynamic Motors. DONT PANIC! GO DYNAMIC!

If I could give 0 stars, I wouldn’t hesitate to do so. This so called business is the worst business I have ever experienced in my 35 years of living. My husband bought a car in March and has had it in their car shop 5 times now within the 7 Months he has had it. They give you the run around about repairs and try to charge you over the head with fees you have to pay before getting the car back. They just want your money. Run far away from this company. They refuse to trade out the vehicle until he has it for a year. Like, why??? The thing doesn’t work properly. Yes it is a used vehicle but nobody expects their vehicle to break down 5 times and pay more than they originally bought the car for. Customer service SUCKS. Office lady walks around with no shoes on in the office! Ran by a bunch of cons and mechanics that chose not to fix vehicles properly or just don’t know how to repair period. Don’t waste your money here and go to Texas Auto or Third Coast.

Caroline Soto made this sales process seamless. She found a way to accommodate my budget and go the extra mile to get me out the door the same day with a car before I had to work. I appreciated her transparency and highly recommend going to see her especially if you have a unique credit situation.

I bought a 2016 Hyundai Sonata from this place last month. after 2 days the car broke down and I need to replace the coil. I called the sales person Gaspar and he told me to bring in the car so they can fix it,when I got there he told me that he will call to the mechanic since they didn’t have the mechanic on site. When I went ti buy the car he told me that they check the cars before they put them up for sale. The day I picked up the car it had a flat tire he said he put air in it,but the car had a one inch nail in it,I open the trunk the next day and I couldn’t close it again because the motor that open the trunk was broken. The next day the other coil went out, then the check the oil light turn on,I check the oil and it didn’t have a drop of oil in the engine. Then the mass sensor went out,so do they really check the cars before they put them up for sale? Everything that came out of the salesman mouth was nothing but lies, they don’t care about the customers. I sold cars for 35 years and I never treated customer in such a way. Unfortunately i got really sick and I had to buy from this dishonest people. I spend about $700 to fix the car and at the end they took it back because I didn’t have the rest of the down payment, the money that I spend to fix the car. i paid $16,000 for a car that broke down 2 days after I bought it. I left a message for the general manager a guy name Chuy and he never bother calling me back,so if the general manager doesn’t care about his customers what can you expect from the sales people? When I went back to talk to them about the car the manager that worked my car deal and the salesman were fired. save yourself headaches and avoid buying a vehicle from this company, nothing but lies come out of their mouths. And I repeat myself I sold car for 35 years and I never saw anything like it before.

It’s not too often that I would give a car dealership a five star rating but Sames Red Barn Motors knocked it out of the park. A little Texas fun fact, Sames is the oldest car dealership in Texas and that experience really shows. Initially, I found Sames through an Autotempest.com search. I sent an email and met Frank Castor. Frank is amazing! It’s always refreshing to meet professionals that are into their craft. Frank went above and beyond to facilitate my experience. Frank is a wholesome man and is definitely a straight shooter. Frank excudes such an inviting positivity that even though you don’t buy a car from him, you walk away feeling like a million bucks. Every time I spoke to Frank it was hard not to walk away smiling (expect family friendly Dad jokes). I have been buying cars for well over 25 years and Sames definitely raised the bar for professionalism, customer service, and overall car buying experience. Sames definitely know their numbers and price their inventory competitively. Frank and the Sames team sold me a very memorable experience that led me to buying a new car. At the end of the day we both walked away smiling, was it Frank for making a sell or me for getting a great deal? Swing on by to Sames Red Barn Motors and decide for yourself.

I do not write reviews good or bad since I find them not worth my time. However I had such a negative experience I felt the need to share. I ended up wasting not 1 day but also having to come back on a different weekend day because they would not respond to our calls regarding the vehicle we purchased not being ready. Then trying to salvage the situation and purchase a 2nd listed car it also had another undisclosed issue and was unavailable for sale. In addition to this, the salesman Darell made a misogynistic comment to my girlfriend and her mother stating “they could wait over there (gesturing to the waiting area) while we discussed the numbers”. Which the car was for my girlfriend and that was stated multiple times so no clue why that comment would be made.

I was recommended this dealership by a family member but my experience was not too good. I had to go back 2 weekends because I was given false hope and the car that I went in for, he told me was at a different dealership and wanted $500 to bring it to theirs, when they could’ve said that on the phone instead of having me go in! and when I did get the car they kept saying they needed more and more money down after already giving me the green light on the down payment I had & I was told it would be dropped off Monday 9am and Monday came and I was trying to get in contact and didn’t hear anything until 1:30 from Darell saying that he will drop off the car in 30 min then I waited another 2 hours until I received a call and said for me to pick up the car instead. When I arrived he was not there and my gas was empty after being told I will get a full tank! Once again FALSE! & I have been trying to get in contact with Darell about certain things of the car and I get no response! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!

Just got my car from Sames and it was a great experience. Bryan leija was a great salesman to work with, he even lowered the price of the car we eventually bought to match another vehicle we were thinking about from another dealer. Definitely recommend for anyone in the market!

I live over an hour away from this dealership. I called asked if the truck was still there and Darrell said yes it was. Pulled up to the dealership and guess what? That truck was being sold. Now Darrel had called us before our drive to ask if we were still on the way, knowing that someone was already there to buy it. Extremely unprofessional environment. It would have been nice for them to call us and tell us that truck had a deal on it and wasn’t available.

  1. I bought my first car here a couple of weeks ago, and I was very pleased with the entire experience. The process went very smooth. I found the car I wanted on the Car Max website, had it shipped from a different city. Car Max was very communicative the whole way during the transfer process. Once the car was here, I was assigned an associate to help with the deal. Jessica was an amazing associate and made my car-buying experience a very positive one! She was personable and very easy to reach via text to answer whatever question I had. She was also very flexible with my work hours. With it being my first experience buying a car, I was so glad Jessica was my associate throughout the process!

  2. After two separate family vehicles totaled ? in just a few weeks, I recently had two excellent experiences at CarMax North Austin. One involved having a specific vehicle shipped from a San Antonio branch, the other helping my teenage stepson pick out his first car. The staff at CarMax were excellent at every step, eager assistance and clear financial information and no pressure.

I was fortunate enough not to have to finance my purchases so I can’t verify what that process is like through CarMax. But the purchase process was smooth and I’m a satisfied customer.

  3. I recently bought a car at this location following a car accident. I walked in without an appointment and was test driving a car within 20 minutes. Ali was extremely helpful, kind, and patient throughout the whole process, even when there was a snag with my bank. He gave me the facts of my options and was not pushy at all. Ali deserves some recognition for superior service. Highly recommend this location!

  4. Being 67 and far from tech savvy, I had serious doubts and fears about finding a car online. Especially as the cars I’d “hearted” (then spent hours researching) would one after the other disappear, the rate of turnover in my Carmax list changing every day. But once I got to the North Austin dealership it went very well, especially because of the help and assurance my salesman (Christian Jenkins) provided. Here was a “kid” 45 years younger than I walking me through every step of the test drive, sales paperwork, and pickup process confidently dissolving all those doubts and fears I had in the beginning. I can’t say enough good things about Christian, he really made the whole process come alive for an old guy like me buying my first new car in some 30 years!
