3 months agoWe have had the best experiences at Car Max in Athens.Throughout our car buying experience, we have been to this location 3 different times, and each time, we were treated with respect and there was zero pressure from the associates.
We took 3 different test drives and were able to browse the other vehicles without being pushed into something we weren’t comfortable with. The customer service is great!
Thanks to Alex and Dylan, who were awesome with helping us shop around the first couple times, and Desmond who was incredibly chill and sold us our new truck. I would recommend looking at Athens CarMax for purchasing a newsed car.
a week agoMy wife and I are first time buyers at CarMax and it was a smooth experience. Salesman was nice, knowledgeable and easy to work with. I’ve never been to a dealership and felt the trade in offer was fair but I felt it was here. Will definitely consider CarMax in the future.a month agoStarting the process was easy but getting the car was difficult. Ordered the car it arrived in Athens, GA 2 days later. After test drive told CarMax what we felt was needed. The fluids for power steering & coolant were all low. The AC compressor did not work forcing repairs. 10 days later still no truck. Also while driving during test drive discovered a whole mess of cracker/cookie crumbs in center console and the truck bed and truck over all needed cleaning. Each call to the local lot got us a different person to talk with causing us to have to go over all the details again. This happened 3-5 times. At one point one employees asked if the truck had even been delivered to Athens. Promised times were not honored and cleaning had to be redone. Front and back windows not cleaned even after asking twice also areas inside the cab were left untouched as well as the bed of the truck. The CarMax promises fell short in our opinion.a month agoGreat experience with selling my car! Started the process online and was told to complete the process at my local CarMax location. Each person I spoke with was very helpful and had amazing customer service! Would definitely recommend!2 months agoSo I originally thought that I would leave a good review. I thought the process went smoothly. I was told I had positive equity when I signed the paperwork. I was told the appraisal was more than the balance on my old vehicle and that the difference would be applied to my down-payment on the new vehicle. That is what the sales person said. It’s been a month and I noticed that I was being billed for a balance on my old vehicle. When I called carmax auto finance they said the store screwed up the paperwork and they would need to fix the error. I was getting a bit of the run around between the store and the finance company, but I spoke with Tamara at the store who was extremely helpful and understanding and accommodating to have everything fixed and the amount reimbursed. I was very upset but she was able to help and I appreciated her for that.

So my car that I drove there tore up on me. With no hesitation I was told its no problem to leave it until I got off work the next day. I eventually gave them to family members, except for the mini van. After building credit with Instant Autos credit builder program, I purchased a new car from a big dealership in Athens. Sadly,after spending over $20,000 on a NEW car, I didn’t receive the same help ,as I do at Instant Auto. Brandon and his staff,treat me like I matter and not as a commission customer! I won’t go back to the big name dealership again!
