I am warning anyone who goes to Ames Ford that they will absolutely screw you over. I purchased a brand new 2022 ford black widow in December and it broke down in February 2023 and they have refused to fix it or take care of me and it’s still sits on their lot today September 12.,2023. They did try to give me a lesser truck that was sold to another gentleman that needed to be up for service not once, but twice within four weeks of him purchasing. a total of 5 1/2 weeks in their shop. Meanwhile, I made all the payments on a truck that was broke down and I continue to make payments as they and Ford Motor Company could care less. I was forced to file a lawsuit because they do not care that I have a brand new truck with 2000 miles on it sitting on their lot that has been sitting there since February of this year. They did not care and parked it under a mulberry tree early spring and summer. Where it was completely covered in Bird feces and mulberries. They are not honest, they will lie to you, and they do NOT care about your situation!! I repeat they do not care about your situation!!!!3 months agoGreat car buying experience! Cam made sure he understood what I was looking for, addressed every concern, spent massive amounts of time showing me every feature of my new car and setting up the electronic panel. a month agoI love my new baby In the beginning there were a few bumps with getting someone on the phone i live in Des Moines and for me to have to travel ALL the way to Ames just to get an answer was beyond me i did complain and stated if this is what im going to have to go through to get service take the car back and ill go elsewhere needless to say the supervisor that was there did hurry to help me after hearing my frustrations and dissatisfaction which was my overall issue not being able to talk to someone when questions about my vehicle arose other than that I LOVE my new addition to the family and not having to pay for oil changes helps alot tooa week agoEvan, our salesperson, was a very good listener, analyzed our needs, worked with us to reach a price and communicated with the Finance person. He took time to help us determine what features we were looking for on a vehicle and also helped us with technology once we committed to the vehicle. Vehicle was clean and had half a tank of fuel in it. After having it a week the new throttle they put in it had to be re-learned. Costing me $200.00. As my service plan didn’t cover. A week after that the crankshaft sensor went out, costing me a bit over $500.00. Sensors are not covered in service plan. Running fine now. I know eventually the Camshaft Sensors will need replaced. There are 2 for my vehicle. Service plan won’t cover so saving. Battery posts had to be cleaned due to corrosion. Needs a new battery and battery cables look like they should be replaced. So there on my to do list. Have not had the vehicle for even a month.Give them a D-
6 months agoIn June, we were excited to be able to purchase a new SUV. We did our research and were ready. When financing took over for the car selected, we started to see red flags popping up. We were told that to secure the best financing they found us, we HAD to add a service contract/warranty to get approved but no worries, it would be on the dealerships dime. As we questioned it, sure enough, no, we ARE paying for said service contract and warranty. Over a 50 dollar difference per month.Fast forward to this month and receiving a letter in the mail from one of the many finance companies that the financing at Lithia ran our information with. Sure enough, a financing offer that our monthly terms would have been a shorter loan AND A CHEAPER monthly payment. This was never shown in regards to Lithia claiming to get us the best rate possible. The loan Lithia has us in will cost us over $5k than the offer mailed directly to us. After finding this out, we decided to ask the higher cost loan company if a warranty or contract was required to secure the loan with them and of course, we received the answer that NO, it would have never been required to secure the loan.
We attempted to get a response from Lithia corporate to no avail but can not believe how much deceit truly became the current situation.

I went to this dealership asking about 2024 Prius Prime cars. I was originally told it could be a year wait, which I was fine with. I started asking some questions about electric range of this car so the sales person went to talk to her manager. When she came back she said the wait is actually 3 to 4 YEARS. No one offered to look up anything in the national inventory system or any other way to help me get what I wanted. This was a super transparent attempt to steer me to one of their used cars on site, which I don’t appreciate. I only made this 2 stars because my salesperson was a very nice and friendly woman. This is super disappointing because I was hoping to make a new relationship with a different brand after Ford stopped making cars. I go to the dealership for ALL repairs, and I feel like this dealership just broke their trust with me before we even got started. I don’t have the time or patience for games.
